I don’t like to bash judges unless their behavior is egregious. He sat through the Theo day trial but took 4 months to rule. At the hearing on the ruling, it was clear that he didn’t remember a thing. He was ogling opposing counsel like a 13 year old, which is probably why he bought everything she argued, hook, line and sinker. Neither the facts or law supported his ruling. Financially ruined an innocent party! Disgusting, but he doesn’t care.

Absolute human garbage. Asked my terminally ill husband in open court "are you still going to be dying next week". My husband was Plaintiffs attorney and Judge continued trial 4 times in favor of Defendant despite knowing my husband had ALS and couldn't try the case because he would die if he continued it more. He did it anyway and mocked my husbands terminal illness.. "are you still going to be dying next week?" !!!!!!!!!!!! i was emotionally distressed from hearing him do that in open court to my sick husband. I also specially appeared (Im an attorney too) at a hearing and he yelled at me during oral arguments to be quiet. Ten years practicing, never had a judge talk to me or yell at me like this. Judge Robert S. Draper is pure human garbage and I hope he will be treated with disrespect and indifference at the time of his death like he did to my husband. Glad he's retiring.

Defendant timely filed a 170.6. It was denied as untimely, contrary to the clear reading of the statute.

Judge Draper appears to want to do the right thing. The problem seems to be that he is no longer able to fully grasp matters (especially complex matters with subtle issues), although he clearly believes he can and to the casual observer would appear to be OK. Proceed with caution.
