A third rate Trump-appointee looking for elevation within the federal judiciary.

A third rate Trump-appointee looking for elevation within the federal judiciary. Peremptory to a fault and unwilling to admit his mistakes even when caught red-handed. Hates anyone pro se. Plus he hires bad law clerks.

This Judge will take his sweet time if he deems your case not urgent enough.

This Judge will take his sweet time if he deems your case not urgent enough. Just wait, he will tell you as much on the record. Expect many months of waiting for orders on motions to strike or motions on the pleadings. Expect ramblings on the record that are "cleaned up" by his Court reporter (note, hire your own court reporter if you have Judge Ruiz or speak to OPC to jointly retain. It will help you both as he tends to express hostility to both sides depending on his judicial mood). He has a general pleasant demeanor, but don't let that fool you. If you challenge him, he will threaten you with sanctions almost instaneously. Just look at his senate confirmation questionnaire. He has denied all motions for recusal except for those involving himself, his wife, and in two criminal cases under affidavit (not Section 455). He gave no grounds for his denial of recusals on perceived bias in the underlying case, but gave a reason in his Senate questionnaire years later...How convenient for him for a life appointment? Good Luck!

May as well take his robe off and climb down.

May as well take his robe off and climb down. Makes the governments argument for them and just says “right” so all they have to do is “Yes judge, right... THANKS!”

This guy needs to go to judge school.

This guy needs to go to judge school. He does not have enough experience to be making decisions that effect people’s lives. The worst. Thinks he’s smarter than he actually is, making him even more dangerous
