Judge McKaig lied to protect police officers after they brutalized me and my wife, then arrested us for obstructing when no crime had occurred. She bent over backwards for the corrupt cops and district attorney who defended them. We did nothing wrong and did not deserve what happened to us. The other poster is right. Ronda McKaig has our blood on her hands just as surely as the corrupt cops who violated and victimized us. Shame on her and the kangaroo court she presides over. She’s a guilty judge and she should be investigated and prosecuted for RICO violations. It’s criminal how we were treated by the Ventura “justice” system.

This judge violated my rights as a human being.

This judge violated my rights as a human being. There are some lines a judge should not cross, and she crossed them. My blood really is on her hands.

My experience has been that she abuses discretion to get the outcome that she wants, even if it means making up facts and prior orders that never existed. Shame on “Judge” Ronda McKaig!

I also am a victim of judge McKaig. Be careful, she holds grudges and retaliates.

She might seem fair to some, but McKaig at times has an explosive temper toward attorneys who challenge her. On one case I witnessed her threaten to hold an attorney in contempt after he made an oral request for recusal for McKaig’s comments about his actions in another court. McKaig has a duty to treat each case separably and not maintain grudges against attorneys she dislikes. It’s attorney favoritism, and it’s sanctionable misconduct. Threatening an attorney with jail if he doesn’t stop raising concerns of bias is embroilment and is despicable behavior. 99% of the time abusers are good people, it’s the 1% of the time where they abuse that counts.

She was not fair to me. Her decision was massively prejudicial and not equitable. She was wrong, and I believe she knows it!

Simply looking at the posting date and the comment from the "Blood on your hands" crazy, made me realize exactly who the person is who posted that message - and a person is a compliment. I was in the same room as this individual last week. The judge in this case was 100% right! And it was a stupid civil mater. Exaggerate much?

She demonstrated nothing but exceptional professionalism and deep legal insight throughout the proceedings, upholding the highest standards of the judicial system. Sure, she corrected me a few times for not being prepared, but that was on me - and not because I'm a women; I sure don't understand the 1 star bias comment on this page. Like anything, just come prepared and act professional.

Sadly, she is extremely biased against other females and goes to great lengths to severely harm women victims/litigants. She decides without proof, based entirely on her bias, to harm a woman litigant and does. She cares not that the woman she is harming has not had the applause and opportunities she has had. She finds a way to sabotage the female victim/litigant.

I had a tough civil jury trial in front of Judge McKaig.

I had a tough civil jury trial in front of Judge McKaig. I felt pretrial that she had an emotional disposition toward the other side and was too solicitousness of their arguments, but she ran a fair trial and did not influence the jury. I think she does a very good job on the bench.

Judge McKaig is an excellent trial judge.

Judge McKaig is an excellent trial judge. Treats both sides evenly but firmly. Very smart and intuitive grasp of complex legal issues. Generally patient and attentive but properly insistent on valuing jury's time and moving things along. Although verdict was against my client, I had zero gripes about this judge's management of the trial which was a first.

I've had this judge in 2 separate civil matters.

I've had this judge in 2 separate civil matters. Although I prevailed in both matters, she did not help the cases. She seems very intelligent, however she allows emotional issues to override logic and legal precedent. When a statute says must, it is not discretionary. She makes promises to the litigants in front of her that she cannot keep to try to "make everyone happy." Should not have been elevated to the bench. Would be better as a mediator.
