I thought they were supposed to have standards for appointing federal judges. How this judge got her job, God only knows.

I thought they were supposed to have standards for appointing federal judges. How this judge got her job, God only knows.
I do complex commercial litigation and I've gotten good, very well-reasoned opinions from her. Also rules relatively promptly - my impression is that she works HARD.
Her 2.9 rating says it all. Stupid and opinionated. She is a former cop and behaves as if she were still busting heads on the street. The lawyer just below who rated her as a 3 is right on. In case you can't figure out why she's a judge, it is called affirmative action and yes we do have wonderful magistrate judges in the NDCA.
Government-oriented and not particularly bright, one wonders why Judge Armstrong was appointed district judge, instead of elevating one of the pool of talented magistrates the Northern District has.
She is always prepared. Lawyers who appear in her court on time and prepared will have no problem. Professional comportment is also a stickler with her.
Very pro-defense in civil rights cases.
