Terrible judicial temperament. Love to hear herself talk. Seems to favor Plaintiffs over defendants.

Terrible judge. Favors local attorneys with whom she socializes over ones from out of the area. Bias affects rulings and temperament. Will award sanctions on a motion by one of the firms she socializes with to reward a local attorney she knows just to show she is looking out for local lawyers even if completely unfair. May want to paper her.

This judge is thorough. Wrote a lengthy, well thought out and well reasoned decision.

This judge has no experience in DV or coercive control. She failed miserably in my case and overlooked crucial evidence which documented both of these of the opposing party. I am glad the court is rid of her. It is concerning this woman in a position of power had this kind of authority to make someone's life miserable with her rulings. At one point I surely thought she must be getting paid off under the table to have completely unacknowledged my spouses abuse towards me.

Make a record each time and get a transcript. Anything she said that is not on the record will not be honored if she doesn't want it to be, and even if the record exists, she will change her mind even after you relied on what she said/ruled. 170.6 for the sake of your client and your own sanity.

Judge Lichtblau is the best family law Judge in Marin County. She actually takes time to listen to parties and is even handed. She is polite and not condescending to anyone, including people who obviously don't know what they are doing in court. She is very even handed in most family law matters. The only criticism is that she too often errors in handing out permanent DVRO restraining orders where one party has made up false DV claims and the issues of the DVRO by her is not based on evidence other than he said/she said. Unfortunately, I have seen too many false claims of DV get past her. Other than that she is a great Judge.
