My experience with Judge Kaufman is simply awful. I find that she often does not understand the law. She makes word salad rulings to cover that she is acting lawlessly. She is hostile to the idea that people end up in her courtroom because they are being abused (bc she only hears certain types of cases). She is mad when there are observers in her courtroom, and I believe it is because she doesn't want the public to see how she treats the people who are forced to be in front of her. She has a very limited world view, and seems like she either does not consider or does not understand poverty, racism, or misogyny. And when someone is impacted by all three factors, she shows no ability to empathize with them. I think she doesn't recognize the immense amount of privilege her education and skin color have given her.

Does this judge supervise and have oversight of other family court judges? What is her role if a family court judge does not follow the law and/or abuses her discretion? Does she review cases? Does she have any role in overseeing other judges and are there repercussions if she finds that a judge is not following the law or behaving in a judicial manner before being forced to file an epensive appeal or give up and accept that there is no justice? If anyone can provide me any information without further depleting my resources after 4 never-ending years in this courthouse about what the role of a supervising judge is and if that person helps citizens, please let me know. I do not think I am the only victim of family court that has these questions. Thank you!

I commend Ms. Kauffman for the professionalism, patience & thoroughness displayed at hearing today. I will note her handling of a ghost Marsden Motion with regard to low level practice IDCO panel counsel was not kosher. Erred ruling in favor of $117 hourly wage Dan Teola # 176675. Judge Kauffman later excelled in civil contempt hearing rendering a fair ruling.

I do not understand that you can sign and move someone that the court don't even tell the party about it it do not make know kind of sense you suppose to follow the law and nor just move a mother of a child down town to another court without letting them know when she asks for them to do it they told her she could not get another judge just to say she came all the way to the court house to ask why and what happen no one knows any thing you called that fair I don't think so

Worst Judge ever! She's allowed my 2 grandchildren to live with their mother although she admitted that the children were witnessing domestic violence in the home regularly. She was totally dismissive to my son, although he did in fact have a Lawyer. My Grandchildren's mother and other grandmother lied throughout the entire trial....Judge Kaufman caught those lies and was totally dismissive. That's just the beginning. I am very careful of who I accuse of being racist, however, my WHITE friend said she was racist before I had a chance to. PLEASE believe every negative rating on Judge Kaufman that you read.
