Sherry L. Shipman

I have witnessed this judge on many occasions and what stands out most is her extreme lack of emotional maturity. She rolls her eyes, interrupts, makes rude remarks and is sometimes just plain mean. You don’t expect to see the behavior of a grade school bully in a judge. I think it’s shameful and makes Denton county look uncivilized to have anyone with this behavior holding position as a public servant and judge.

I was heavy at the time, but dressed in nice khaki slacks and a designer cotton blouse. “You may be able to get away with this in Tarrant County, but not in my Court!” (We went to law school together) BIAS. Local female atty standing right next to me in $29 Target dress with sandles, no hose…nothing was said to her. I have lost 87 pounds in 3 yrs, went back in front of her in similar court outfit…crickets

She us very bias against men. We have spoken to many others in her courtroom. She doesn't listen or allow proper evidence to be submitted. Very rude, arrogant, and interrupts. She's not Judge Judy.

After coming in contact with this judge and the disparaging and inappropriate comments she made in front of the court and opposing counsel, I have no confidence in the legal system and that the rest of my case will be treated fairly. She was disrespectful and unprofessional and even said “she’s not supposed to say those thoughts out loud”. She was completely disconnected from the second we walked in the court room. I go to final trial in half a year and have no faith in the judicial system or that I’ll get treated fairly in my child custody case based off of something that is supposed to be unrelated to my child’s well being.

It's sad that Sherry Shipman fawns over men and treats women with crass disrespect, especially in family law cases. It's particularly sad for the children involved.
