This judge is a clown. It is an insult to prepare a high quality motion and memorandum of law just to have this judge ignore clear, settled law. Beware of his having "cozy" relationships with local lawyers. Frankly, his lack of quality of judgeship is quite common in the Miami-Dade Circuit Court bench.

Judge Eig is entering orders of involuntary dismissal as matter of routine practice in probate cases pending for less than 90 days purportedly for non-compliance with a court order. In reality the court order in question is void as in excess of a trial court's jurisdiction under rule 1.420 yet he checks the box on such illegal orders daily knowing attorney fees for relative to couple hundred dollar probate filing fee are cost prohibitive. Go figure.

He knows exactly the meaning and intention of the law. The first thing in his mind is the servive of the law which requires compassion for the handicapped.
