Judge Miller’s approach to protecting the wards are not consistent.
Judge Miller’s approach to protecting the wards are not consistent. Often times her tone is aggressive and she does not allow litigants the opportunity to defend themselves, often resorting to berating them. The guardianship process is tedious and stressful is conjunction with caring for a loved one who requires around the clock care. Caring for a loved one and wanting to do right by them should not result in feeling degraded and unjustly spoken to as if you’re a criminal. My understanding is that judges should be impartial while enforcing the law, but when you’re dealing with the estates of disabled individuals and their caregivers, traits such as professionalism, decorum, and sensitivity should be apparent in every interaction.
