I have also found him very fair in a civil rights case against government employees. He is also very respectful to a pro se litigant, pausing during explanations to make sure his meaning and requirements are understood.

Magistrate Judge Crocker is fair and even-tempered. He is able to understand cutting-edge arguments, and unafraid to pull the trigger in a civil rights case against government defendants. In trials, he has been a bit hesitant to rule forthrightly on objections. The simple words "sustained" and "overruled" that were so often uttered in isolation by Judge Shabaz, do have their place in the courtroom.
