Cogliati has a few cogs loose.

Cogliati has a few cogs loose. She apparently hates men, demonstrate SEVERE anti-defense bias, and over-compensates if you are a zealous advocate by trying to silence you. This hypocrite clearly engages in ex parte discussions about active cases. And if you are critical of her Court for abusing your clients rights, for instance by raising the issue of how the bailiffs leave in-custody clients hogtied in holding cell for hours at a time and how they deny them basic necessities like drinking water, she will retaliate by making false claims to the State Bar against you. 170.6 and AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I had exactly the opposite experience with Judge Cogliati.

I had exactly the opposite experience with Judge Cogliati. We were in the judge's courtroom for several days in a row, and both I and another attorney were very pleased with her command of the facts in the case. So much so, that we both walked out of her courtroom, turned to one another, and questioned how she gained control of certain details so quickly. Further, the matter included some emotionally charged issues, and Judge Cogliati's demeanor in the courtroom allowed both counsel and the witnesses to fully present the case without feeling rushed. She was very patient with the witnesses and kind to the other individuals in the courtroom.

This Judge did not appear to read the file or the motion before ruling.

This Judge did not appear to read the file or the motion before ruling. She completely disregarded California law. The Judge denied a Motion To Quash and after she ruled wanted to set the matter for trial apparently lacking the basic knowledge that the court is not conferred jurisdiction of the defendant by the defendant specially appearing on such a motion. The Judge is apparently unfamiliar with the law she is assigned to decide. She might want to set a matter for trial AFTER the defendant has appeared and filed an answer.
