This judge is either biased or not paying any attention, or both. Sitting in the Appellate Division, she and her two fellow judges failed to properly calculate the effect of tolling on a statute of limitations period, an easy calculation. Thus, they stated an erroneous limitations deadline date, the central issue in the appeal. Then, they completely omitted from the written decision how they arrived at this conclusion. A written decision that omits reasoning is useless, except as an attempt by a judge to escape accountability.

After seeing all of the reviews, I have realized that my experience with this judge, and her obvious bias, is not unique. It is amazing that this woman is still on the bench. In my case she seemed to know opposing counsel and was kissing his ass like crazy. Of course I lost, even though the facts and law were on my side. Alameda County should do better than Judge Desautels. Much better.
