Commissioner Morton is one of the only judicial officers who has actually weighs evidence appropriately and who is unbiased in her view of litigants. Too often, whatever prejudice the initial judge had spills over into all litigation thereafter as in Maricopa County judges will overlook evidence and co-sign whatever their predecessor started. Not Wendy Morton! I had her for an OOP hearing where the perpetrator contested the order of protection and sought to regain access to his victims! He told Morton, “look what the judge wrote about her before,” demanding that she ignore the medical evidence that proved he committed the abuse. Morton upheld the OOP! The perpetrator then submitted a Motion for Reconsideration! Morton then gave the most detailed denial I’ve ever seen, protecting the victims (who are young children). I am so grateful for her!
