Subject: Review of Judge There should be deep concerns regarding Judge Wesley Tibbals and his tenure in family court. There have been numerous instances where Judge Tibbals has either recused himself or faced requests for recusal due to alleged biases and inappropriate behavior. There is a prevailing perception that his rulings disproportionately favor husbands in divorce cases, resulting in unfavorable outcomes for wives and children. It's distressing to note cases where wives and children received nothing while the husband evades financial responsibility, including alimony or equitable distribution. Such decisions, in my opinion, raise questions about the fairness and balance of the judicial process in family court under Judge Tibbals' jurisdiction. One particular case that drew attention involved Laurel Friedman's concerns about her estranged husband potentially taking their young daughter to his native Turkey. Tragically, both the father and daughter have passed away. The father killed the child. This heartbreaking incident highlights the weight of decisions made within family court and their potential ramifications. Based on these concerning patterns and outcomes, I urge caution to anyone, especially females, navigating divorce proceedings in Judge Tibbals' courtroom. Seeking alternative legal routes or requesting a different judge might be essential for ensuring a fair and impartial resolution in sensitive family matters. Judge Tibbals really is a fair judge. He sees when someone is over litigating a case. So if you are a parent doing this to another parent, he will see it, and wonder what that parent over litigating is hiding. He saved my kids from my ex who refused to close a case for 4 years. Judge Tibbals came in and shut it down fast, got us on the right track and my ex knows better now than to file a frivolous motion. Thank you Judge Tibbals. Thank you!

Judge Tibbales presided over my Family Court Case. He deals with facts and evidence not emotions and sees a case for what it is. Judge Tibbals has my upmost respect.

I have observed a case Judge Tibbals has been residing over involving my niece and her children. Issues going to family court have a tenancy to be ugly, that why your are there. However, from what I have personally witnessed, read in the newspapers, heard from other litigants, this Judge is not going to give justice to females in our community. You can hear the disdain for women in his voice. My nieces ex-husband is a "dianosed" sociopath, convicted drug addict, and enjoys litigating to stay in my nieces life. I fear for my niece and her children; for their safety and for their sanity as they allow him to continuously abuse her using the legal system. Judge Tibbals has played a big part of that. He recommended a guardian ad litem, which after tens of thousands of dollars of fees, was found to have numerous cases in other counties of alleged abuse of power and even an inappropriate relationship with a litigant father during a case. I could easily go on about the wrongdoings witnesses by this Judge. If you drove through South Tampa during his election season you saw who voted him in based on the yard signs.

This judge clearly has no regard for the rights, wishes, or wellbeing of children involved in legal proceedings. He has a history of making decisions based on favoritism, ego, and his own defensiveness. He is volatile and not at all an objective judge. His decisions have led to heinous outcomes (e.g., a child literally being murdered), and somehow he is still allowed to practice without consequence or oversight. It is truly a despicable system.

Sadly my daughter has been treated unfairly, shut down when speaking, I feel Tibbals must have fell for the charming deception of the father.

Does not enforce financial orders from men

My experience is that he was unfair to my stepdaughter, feel he does not treat women fairly. The husband lied and charmed the judge, and he would not listen to my step daughter. I maybe Dr Noah who is running against him will be Fair and compassionate toward mothers and women.

Oftentimes rich father's will intentionally reduce their income to avoid paying support and settlements, and they cry because times are so tough. Tibbals cries with them and then hands out favorable rulings to them while the wife suffers financially. Then they laugh all the way to the bank knowing them played Judge Tibbalslike a fiddle

Judge Tibbals ruled over my case for years and did my final divorce. I am a woman and like the other comments on here, I found him to have a bias against women. He was even disrespectful the way he spoke to me. Like I was nothing. My opinion is that the final order was unfair (I understand most people think that of their divorce order), and my husband even acknowledged in mediation that he has a great advantage as this judge would continue to issue favorable rulings to him so why would he not litigate. If you are a woman and have him assigned as a judge I would recommend you hire a male attorney and say as little as necessary in front of the judge.
