I filed a civil suit against a mechanic for not doing all of the work he charged me for. My evidence was clear and overwhelming. When Judge Jarvis asked him why the parts were still red when the new ones are supposed to be blue, he admitted that he said “oh, sometimes I don’t replace those.” This should have been an open and closed case, but instead, Jarvis asked me “What took you so long?” I discovered the fraud four months after I got my car back. There is not a 120 day or less statute of limitations for determining you have been defrauded. Jarvis awarded him the case even though he admitted he didn’t do the work. If this is the best Prince William County can find to be a judge, we’re in serious trouble.
