Anthony W. Ishii

Judge Ishii has excellent demeanor in the court room. He more than allows each party to argue its position, sometimes even too much. He is thoughtful, and an independent thinker, who will raise pertinent legal issues neither party has thought of. He is as even handed as they come. If you're assigned to him, be confident he is a thoughtful judge.

One of a couple Judges that care about reviewing details before making a ruling that will result in outcome of families, lives, and relationships. He truly appears to make decisions as the law allows and the facts in each case as applicable to said law.

Frequently dispenses with hearings on civil law and motion matters, which is indicative of a disturbing modern trend to favor efficiency at the expense of due process; more disturbing yet is his propensity for carefully-masked intellectual dishonesty.

I was very impressed with his opinions, which were extremely well-researched and carefully reasoned. I have felt this way even when the decision has gone against my client.
