Oh God. I wish I would of read this before. She literally said that I did not qualify as disabled, although I was given a reasonable accommodation, which can only be given of u r considered disabled I am suing the county. She is recommending that my case be dismissed. This is going to appeal. Another [redacted] year of my life.
Destroyed a disabled worker's whole life bc she was having a relationship with the Suffolk County Attorney J.P. All cases against County or State get Dismissed! She is Sadistic. Waiting for Newsday to Expose. Investigate-interview court staff

Horrific. Literally screamed at me and my crying client. I don't know why she thought abusing an attorney and deliberately targeting an upset and nervous client because they wanted their day in court was appropriate, but it happened and I could not believe this "judge's" behavior. After nearly 30 years of litigating, I can honestly say my time in front of her was the bottom of the barrel. She is unfit for the bench. And she owes my client an apology, but people like her don't apologize, they think it is beneath them. Never agree to a Magistrate.
this Judge dismissed a civil case bc she worked with a defense attorney to squash the complaint bc Suffolk County was liable for disability discrimination. Whenever it's a County suit it will be automatically dismissed on some ridiculous technicality. I am ashamed to say Plantiff's can't get a fair hearing with this Judge. She takes Goverment or County side EVERY TIME
This Judge is serious and can see through the smoke and mirrors Defense tries to use. Perhaps the comments wouldn't be so harsh if she were a man. She is tough but fair. Respect her and she will respect you. Do not waste her time. She listens carefully not like other Judges who drift away. She earned her place. Sure she had to work harder for it bc she is a woman. Her staff is amazing. During a difficult moment I was comforted in the hallway and assured the Judge wasn't upset with me. That meant so much.
Dictatorial, no respect for the attorneys or the litigants, exceptionally verbally abusive and abuses her power, despite the facts of the cases.
I can see this is a defense oriented judge even before I begin discovery. I agree with other posters. The Judge is awful, just awful.
This woman is clearly not fit for her position. She's extremely biased. She will have already made up her mind before the defense calls a single witness. She has a tendency to rule completely in favor of one side or another. I echo the sentiments of others in saying that's she's incredibly temperamental. Her best trait is that she's a little more flexible when it comes to scheduling than most other judges, but not by much.
Echo # 11830, 9782, 6007, 5039. Plain awful, avoid like plague, get out of the jurisdiction if need be. No concern that there are human beings being affected by the litigation. Very vindictive when her order is reversed, and God help you then.
Echo #s 5039, 6007, 9782. One of the worst magistrates. Imperious, contemptuous even when she has not understood a thing. As someone said, avoid like plague - leave the jurisdiction if need be!
On the bench, Lindsay appears fair and cordial. She will give the attorneys a fair going over and requires that they be prepared. Entertains all arguments, so don't be shy. Has insisted on hard work during trial and pushed to speed things along, even pressing attorneys to work on usual days off. Very understanding to juries. Issues well, reasoned, thoughtful decisions. Will take some time to render a decision in even simple matters. Flexible in scheduling and understands the complications that can arise in litigation and real life. Having appeared before her over the years, the demeanor of her clerks has varied from super nice and helpful to mean and nasty. Does not push settlement.
Orenstein (Brooklyn) may be worse re temperament. When both are up for review, lawyers should take action.
While not the "worst judge" I've appeared before, I echo #6007 and #5039. Gets personally incensed when you get her ruling reversed, and affirmatively acts to render the reversal practically useless. Unilateral rulings from the bench on issues never raised in the papers, and without even hearing the other side. Nightmare

Judge Lindsay is flexible in scheduling matters and understands both sides of the law. Her explanations are scholarly and she demonstrates patience during trial. She is available for discussions. She is hardworking to the point of extremes - here's hoping your case is not near a holiday! Her clerks and deputy are all fair and cordial. She should be a district judge.
This person is the worst judge that I have ever appeared in front of in over twenty years of litigation. She is extremely impressed with herself to the point of narcissism, and takes it out with a vengeance on everyone in "her" courtroom. Note: it is not the "People's" courtroom. Her clerks are no better. They are rude, inflexible, imperious and extremely difficult to talk with, even concerning the most mundane matters. Do not volunteer to transfer your case to a magistrate from a real Federal judge! She will treat you with disdain and outright contempt. I cannot overstate how difficult she is, and everyone suffers, both sides, since she is so contentious and downright unfit for the bench. Hopefully, she will not be reappointed and will then have to work for a living, since it was obvious by the decisions in my case and those of my friends, that she never bothered to read our papers. Avoid her like the plague.
Smart and fair. A pleasure to appear before. Likes and rewards prep. Is good to attorneys as long as they don't play around or try to BS her. Listens on bail.
