One of the best judges on the entire Federal bench. Always prepared and will even do independent research. Word to the wise be uber prepared. He is fair and practical and always a pleasure to appear before. Wish he could be the dean of Judges school. With 100's of apearances he is by far the best judge I have ever been before.
Judge Siragusa is a pleasant, even-tempered and fair-minded judge. He displays no bias for either side and gives very clear instructions to the jury. A lawyer should be well advised not to challenge Judge Siragusa's authority or rulings in front of the jury, as he gains the jury's respect at the outset and maintains it to the end.
Your client will get a fair trial.
Hard worker, reads briefs and cases before oral argument, thoughtful. Polite to counsel but will challenge arguments and statements that don't make sense. Tries to get it right.

I have done 2 criminal trials and a number of pled matters. He was a state court judge prior to his appointment to the federal bench. Even though he comes from the local prosecutors' office, he is even handed in his dealings. He has an appreciation for the work that the private bar does. Thus he is fair minded when scheduling matters.
Judge Siragusa came out the local prosecutors office, and I thought he would be terrible on civil cases. Not so. He is extremely well prepared on motions, thoughtful and smart. He is easily the best USDC judge I have been in front of in 16 years of practice, perhaps the best period. He works very hard to understand the facts of each case and the applicable law, and challenges the attorneys during oral argument. Importantly, while he is appropriately firm about his scheduling orders, he remains extremely courteous and reasonable to the attorneys, and grants adjournments where it makes sense to do so.
