I had a case before him, and right out of the gate he was biased against me. But in the end, I won the case. I was proceeding pro se, and I had to beat him and the opposing attorney by using the civil litigation laws. They couldn't get around that. I could tell that he was upset that I pulled it off.
An outstanding judge. I fear that the negative reviews are from a few knuckleheads who lost their one case in front of him. I have dealt with Judge Clevert as a bankruptcy judge and now as a district court judge. I have had the pleasure of winning, and the disappointment of losing, in his court. In each instance, he was fair, impartial, smart and ruled based on the law. He is the best.
Literally creates his own law, fails to cite relevant cases, etc., etc., etc.
Not knowledgeable and shows bias by legislating from the bench rather than relying on case law; Not impartial.
He changed his occupation and made new law. Read the Olofson case. Clearly legislating from the bench.

Judge Clevert is a wonderful judge. He is fair, pleasant and always prepared.
Clevert is GOD when it comes to civil litigation. Do not mess around with discovery issues before him, or fear the Wrath of God. Bright man, hates games.
