Litigants can opt out of having the magistrate judges write decisions. He is a real trickster, overstepping his authority, lazy, and not qualified to sit in federal court, his prior experience was limited to small claims, arrangements, and traffic cases. Having Worked in a small town court he I'd inclined to rush through cases and get home to mama. He should, mot be in federal court. He tries to be funny, but in matters of misogynist abuse, there should be no joking. A real clown.

I concur with the prior comment. I only hope that Judge Hummel does not intend to clear the calendar of cases handed to him, some of which have been around for years. After all, LITIGANTS deserve JUSTICE. I hope he catches up before injustice occurs. That will be a shame for all.

Very collegial and easy going. Doesn't have background in federal practice or procedure and seems to be playing catch-up. Hummel is going to be a good magistrate judge once he learns the ropes.
