Bias is an understatement. Refused to disqualify him self when Trump vs Hillary Clinton was before him. He was appointed by Bill Clinton and should have disqualified himself. Instead he dismissed the law suit. He should be removed from the bench, indicted, and remaned for the rest of his life. [Redacted by Ed.]
Fair enough Judge and can be trusted, he follows the rule of Law and preserves without a fear a dignity of our judicial system...
Wow...this judge wrote in his order that we were indigent but then proceeded to deny our Motions to Proceed In Forma Pauperis???#21-14425. Rather unlawful and unfair but the Defendants were City of Stuart, Martin County, Stuart City Police, etc.... Guess there is a thin black line!
Old and lazy - punts on civil cases whenever possible, such as based upon alleged parallell state court litigation on abstention grounds. He actually had a call with a state court judge in one of my cases, never reflected in the docket or disclosed to the parties - we only learned of it from the state court judge This is still another federal judge who demands strict compliance with his schedule but sits on files for months just to punt on them. He is inclined to enforce settlements just to avoid trying cases.
Excellent judge. A gentleman to all parties and jurors. Sentences depend on his view of the defendant, sometimes tough sometimes lenient.
Good judge.
He was Chief Judge on a remanded case from SCOTUS. He didn't really seem to be aware of the facts of the case. Actually, all three judges seemed ignorant of the facts. They ruled on cold hearsay testimony, while the facts of the case proved otherwise. He seriously needs a new line of work. It almost seems like they were annoyed at the fact that this person was able to get the case to SCOTUS and win unanimously, after the 11th Circuit found that the case was moot.
Judge Middlebrooks is very respectful to counsel and jury members, while maintaining good control of the courtroom. Appearing before him is a positive experience.
This judge is fair and works hard, with a good demeanor.
