Earl H. Carroll

Judge Carroll demands that lawyers be prepared, that they demonstrate competence, and that they show a complete understanding of the law of the case. He can be very tough on unprepared lawyers, has no tolerance for those who aren't capable. Overall, though, he's as fair a judge as I've ever known.

Judge Carroll is more than "somewhat grumpy". He's completely off his rocker and is known for having yelled at lawyers for no discernible reason. I've found his behavior to be unprofessional. I've witnessed him embarass lawyers in his courtroom needlessly.

Judge Carroll has a reputation as being somewhat grumpy, but he is nevertheless a very good judge.
