Judge Korman has a weather vane outside the window of his courtroom to find out which way the 'wind is blowing'. He may well be the man behind the curtain in that wonderful Judy Garland movie. Judge Korman once gave an interview to a magazine reporter. He told the reporter of the heavy burdens he must endure as a federal judge. Told the reporter that times he is so stressed out with a decision that he is so fretful that he tosses and turns in his bed and his wife ( an exec ADA Brooklyn DA office) wakes up and asks the judge what's the matter, Judge. Judge tells her the facts of the case, to which she usually replies - don't worry about it and go back to sleep.

Terrible Judge, allowed a Federal Prosecutor to win and put a case in his Court Room (10-31-1989-Eastern District Court, Brooklyn, NY) for "Political and Career" Advancements [Redacted by Ed.]. The whole case was fraught with fraud, illegality, lies, withheld/evidence, suppression of evidence, usurping Federal Laws, allowing Constitutional Laws afforded to a defendant to be breached/broken afforded to a defendant, plus besmirchment and slandering of defendant, especially when "Defendant beats the Feds out in their own game in the Federal Prisons" (Lets write about this in the MSM News Media). This case 10-31-1989 should be reviewed and reevaluated as it was originally done. [Redacted by Ed.]

Brilliant Jurist. The EDNY is lucky to have him. Make sure you are prepared. Don't try to fool him. Ask for help if you need it - he loves to mentor.

An excellent jurist, fair, honest, intelligent and will listen to reason. Do not be unprepared, do not try to bluff your way through.

An excellent judge whose sometimes gruff demeanor conceals a great sense of humor. Very smart and prepared. Treats everyone like an adult.

Attended a recent sentencing before Judge Korman involving a very difficult defendant who blew cooperation by being re-arrested and getting a substantial state court sentence, so the government declined to file a 5K letter. The judge nonetheless gave the defendant substantial credit for his cooperation and addressed the defendant in a very straightforward and humane way.

He is just a great judge all around, fair, even handed, friendly, not pompous. Definitely one of the best judges in the Eastern District. It is a pleasure to appear before him.
