I don't know anyone who holds Magistrate Jenkins in as high a regard as her score reflects. It looks like Magistrate Jenkins has been reviewing herself, which is the kind of thing she would do. She is not as unintelligent as some on the middle district, but she frequently avoids tackling the prickly legal issues in favor of a kind of American Idol jurisprudence, where she draws overly quick judgments and then rules willy nilliy. She was completely out of line one time, dressing down my opposing counsel (who was not someone I was particularly fond of), telling her what a terrible job she was doing for her client. Then, she seemed to realize herself that she'd been out of line and then granted the dressed down lawyer's motion without even hearing her out or hearing the argument in opposition!

I cannot believe this Judge let off Youssef Megahed and Ahmed Mohamed with very low bail after the evidence that was found in their vehicle. Our New York police officers are completely incensed about this matter, and so am I.

Hard working. Very intelligent and courteous to all, even obnoxiously late attorneys. Both she and her staff were very helpful.
