Elizabeth A. Kovachevich

Everything a Federal Judge should be. She is in charge of her Court, and as noted by contrary counsels, some would rather be in state court in a less formal environment. I have never read an Order by Judge K that I thought was legally wrong or mistaken.

Horrid demeanor. Overwhelmed with her own self. Uncaring towards others. Makes snap judgments without understanding facts or law.

Very lazy, very unintelligent, or both. Her rulings consistently demonstrate an inability or unwillingness to understand the issues before her. She seriously ruled one time that an organization could not be guilty of violating a Florida law because there had not been any Florida appellate decisions about someone else having ever violated that same law before. No exaggeration.

Incredibly slow and totally unavailable to hear or decide motions. She will not even hold scheduling conferences that are requireded by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. She does not even come close to performing her job and her continued presence on the Court is disgraceful. This is not sour grapes . I won the only case I have had before Judge Kovachevich and she ruled in my client's favor in several critical motions.

I have found Judge Kovachevich to be inconsistent. While she can produce a decent order from time to time, her rulings are sometimes not consistent with the law, as I understand it.
