Has NEVER ruled in favor of an inmate, whether the inmate is innocent or not. Refused to recuse even with a severe conflict of interest in Myers v. Annucci, et. al., acknowledging that he's friends with the defendant. 15cv46.

If you represent a Social Security Claimant you are out of luck. Judge Sharpe denies them all, no matter that the ALJ committed several significant errors.

I guess my expectations, based on the law and the facts of the case, would make Judge Sharpe want to be fair. In some cases, his arbitrary and capricious actions in my case (or whoever he designated the case to, failed miserably. Its there right in front of you. So, please look. I think my response was based on what I perceived to be a deliberate distortion of evidence and law. Sometimes we don't know why judges act lazy. It is prejudice, bias, stubbornness, I don't know. But I was counting on you allow justice to occur. The comments regarding JEL are in that, how can a person be a litigant in a case and never been served. How can the docket in that case say notices sent, when no notices were sent. The Justice System needs to self-correct. When I read the decisions and orders involving white males ........ a big difference in Judge Sharpe's (or someone acting on this behalf.) Maybe he is disabled too. Pancreatic problems, or perhaps liver problems with mental deficits. It just science and speculative. I am not a doctor. All this work???????? It's your job, Judge. I know free-writing online is never a good idea. But I am me, and I am unique. I have a right to be me.

I am not sure if it is Sharpe or his law clerk. His alleged writings are so outrageous and contrary to the records, and bias, distorted......there's one main type of person who does that and it just so happens to fit with JEL, his law clerk. I've seen documents wherein he will submit text orders contrary to evidence. Ultimately, it is Sharpe's responsibility. Evil, vile, slanderous, OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! You would like a Federal Court would be interested in justice. How can he be the head judge in NDNY if he is acting fairly? He double sentences a sex offender and adds his psychological opinion that the defendant was, born with the propensity. Sounds like first-hand knowledge to me. That's the issue, he doesn't rule based on the record, or JEL, or CH, they go by their own bias, prejudice and pre-determinations based on their OWN LIFE EXPERIENCES. Simply outrageous.
Bi-polar, woman-hating, rubber-faced, lazy...... spiteful, lazy, lazy, lazy, "Hey, I have something more important than what happened to you waiting for me." Like Judge Cardona, God will deal with him ..... LAZY and evil, and stupid and attention-seeking, are my main impressions. The sketches drawn of him he looks rather dark-skinned. My guess, he lives in Florida with possibly a landing strip in back of his Florida Residence. Shaddy-Sharpe.

An ego maniac. Each and every civil case assigned to him will end up in the second circuit. It makes me feel ashamed of having been a life-long Republican. A real ego maniac. The Courtroom is not baseball. He ignores documents sent in by plaintiff's side, just ignores them and lets time pass. Each and every civil case will end up in appellate court or the plaintiff will ultimately seek out their own kind of justice. Too bad he is a life appointment. Ego maniac.

The pun is inevitable - Judge Sharpe is sharp. He knows the law perhaps better than any judge in the Northern District. If you argue in front of him, you best know the cases you cite as well as those cases cited by the cases you cite. He shoots from the hip often, sometimes to his detriment. However, at the end of the day, he relies upon the law.

Judge Sharpe is the living embodiment of everything that is wrong with the judicial appointments put forward by George W. Bush. He is both lazy and dumb, and he takes great pleasure in imposing his own brand of right-wing "justice" upon those who enter his courtroom. His decisions frequently make no sense, are unresearched and ignore the factual record provided to the Court. Consequently, they are frequently reversed. Once a case is remanded, Judge Sharpe will then blame the prevailing lawyer for "failing to bring relevant authority to his attention," the functional equivalent of the teacher blaming the student when they don't know what they are doing. Simple cases languish forever awaiting a poorly drafted written decision. He also begrudges lawyers who appear before him from earning a good living, and will poleax them on attorneys' fees, all the while taking great pleasure in it. He is a nice guy in person (sort of like John Roberts), and is good about scheduling, but the bad far, far outweighs the good. If you represent defendants in civil litigation and see GLS on your scheduling notice, be joyful. If you represent plaintiffs and see those initials, you ought to consider withdrawing from the case, because you have just checked yourself into the latest heartbreak suite at the Heartbreak Hotel that is the Northern District of New York. At a minimum, make sure you have a good record for the inevitable appeal from summary judgment.

He came on the bench when he was a magistrate ready to put my client in after some violations of pretrial release. I came prepared and he acknowledged that he would have put the client in, but for our new arguments. So my conclusion is that he listens to the arguments of counsel and keeps an open mind. He seems thoughtful and concerned, but runs a tight ship and dosent tolerate screw up defendants.
