So, besides being super impressed with his dashing sense of style [wearing a boldly colored and sizeably noticeable bow-tie every time I was before him in court], I thought Judge Glasser really had his wits about him, despite what we as a society have been led to believe about senior citizens above a certain age and their presumed mental capacity. I am not very savvy when it comes to the law or being a criminal defendant in a court room, but at the time when I was one under Judge Glasser, initially he seemed very to the point, fair, and well rounded. He had my lawyer ask me to submit all sorts of helpful things to get more of a sense of my background and who I was as a person not just who I had become during the years of my crime/legal "mistake", which truly went a long way for me at my sentencing. Things such as reviews from customers at my job (I was a driver for the rideshare apps), letters from friends & family (or whoever knew me earlier in life and was willing or wanted to submit a letter on my behalf stating why I should remain a member of society and not be imprisoned), and school records, which worked well for me as I had been on the Dean's List and was awarded with Perfect Attendance certificates in college. Now, my case was quite peculiar and I decided to start purposely using my drug of choice toward the end of my time on Pre-Trial (aka the worst few years of my entire life) due to the fact that I did not want to cooperate and be a snitch or an "informant" but I had initially agreed under the pressure of my COURT APPOINTED LAWYER (who works more for the Prosecution and the government - this isn't my opinion, it's a fact) and my mother & family because we were told this would be the ONLY WAY to get sentenced to maximum probation time and NO JAIL TIME since my state minimum sentencing guideline was 10 years-life in jail. When I was supposed to be sentenced, it was more of an appearance for the violation of continued dirty urine, which I had told everyone o

Just came across this judge's handy work! His legacy will be... forget the constitution! The hell with the compulsory process! Six amendment rights forget about it! I do what I want to do! You can appeal it! His days of judicial reasoning are long gone. His judicial awareness is all an act. He cant remember names, forget about case issues. His staff briefs him right before the conference. The judicial system cannot afford to baby sit old judges.

This judge is Bad,cranky, irrational, has no patience when when challenged on issues, far from impartial and sad to say but senile. His views on the law are in line with the Jim Crow era.. He needs too retire immediately..

When a judge moves to protect law enforcement and coddle the government, instead of upholding the Constitution our JUSTICE SYSTEM becomes a mockery of JUSTICE! This judge should be ashamed of himself in the way he rules in favor of the prosecutor Without even fully reviewing the cases. I personally doubt this judge even reads most of his briefs entirely. Investigating his cases his inconsistencies are out of the ordinary,he once gave a mobster five years even though the guy admitted to 19 murders, all because he assisted the prosecutor. This judge will had out even more time to defendants who didnt deserve the harsh sentence just to appease the government and law enforcement.

He's getting way to risky at his age to decide complex cases. This judge does what he wants how he wants according to how he feels the day he comes in his court room. He's not a judge that shld be still on the bench very forgetful amd his staff helps maintain very scary for the judicial system.

Downright scary that he's as sharp as he is at 93. Reads everything, gets nuance, is inquisitive and doesn't seem to have an ounce of plaque in his head. Still a damn good judge. EDNY lucky to have him

Those who say that Judge Glasser will do anything the government wants him to do could not have been talking about the Judge Glasser I have been before. He both challenges and stands up to the government and tells it like it is. In my view, the government is just another litigant in his courtroom, and that is as it should be. Judge Glasser is fair, evenhanded, well-acquainted with the facts of the case and sharp on the law. He does not insult counsel, even though he could have done so with reason if he wished. He acknowledged his distaste for getting involved in settlement discussions, but did it when he had to and was effective at it. An excellent judge and a credit to the EDNY.

This judge threw the book at me and others without even understanding the case or apparently the law as the sentence he metted out was finally overturned. The comment underneath that states that he does whatever the government wants it truly accurate. Except in my case even the prosecutor argues he was being to harsh and should have honored our plea agreement and not taken a misunderstanding by the people who prepare the pre sentence report and again added enhancements that were not part of the plea agreement and had no relevance to my case. Directly underneath, where the post says be prepared to appeal, left out the part that should say that you should be prepared to have the appeal denied because it would appear that the ones that hear the appeal are way to swayed by his reputation to right a wrong that he makes. Had to find a judge in another state that finally understood the case to overturn at least some of the unjust, unprecedented, and in the words just "plain error" in the sentence he imposed on me and others.

Horribly biased against civil rights cases. If you are a plaintiff, fold your tent or be prepared to appeal. Sarcastic, insulting to experts, a nightmare!

Despite not usually being in a good mood, he is truly an outstanding judge. Hard working, and incredibly serious about the strain of actually having to incarcerate people. I have nothing but the highest respect for the judge.

Despite reputation for not always being in a cheerful mood, Judge Glasser is an excellent, first rate judge in every respect. I have seen him time and again really struggle with the notion of sentencing people in criminal cases and he thoroughly tries to weigh all of the relevant factors before coming to a just decision. A great judge.

A nightmare for plaintiffs in employment discrimination cases. Dismisses every case on summary judgment regardless of the merits. His decisions adopt the employer's statements as undisputed facts and ignore all evidence favorable to the plaintiff.

Crusty on the outside, extremely fair and judicious on the inside. Isn't looking to run for mayor, but has the brains and heart to do the right thing. Great judge.
