Janis Lynn Sammartino

She is very nice and pleasant. She is just not very bright. Will give whatever sentence Government wants.

Had a lengthy trial with Judge Sammartino and found her to be very fair and patient. Let me try my case. Regardless of how her rulings went, I always felt that she gave everyone a chance and considered my arguments fully before ruling. Extremely polite to counsel and a pleasure to work with I think.

She's relatively new, but has quickly established herself as one of the best judges in the district. She is very evenhanded -- I've won and lost in cases before her, but her rulings are always intelligent and well considered. In one case, she issued a written opinion that were better than the parties' briefs. She also is patient and respectful to Defendants. I always look forward to appearing in her court.

Judge Sammartino has a very nice demeanor. She will listen to arguments in a very respectful way and she does not rush the parties unnecessarily. Unfortunately, she is not very bright and she is very pro-Government. She does not know the Rules of Evidence. She is a nightmare in trial because of it.
