A true liberal activist jurist. (when he's awake) Displayed incredible, and utterly unfounded, bias against myself and codefendants in a civil litigation case. Refused to allow crucial evidence be admitted. Actually stated that he would overrule the jury's verdict, if they returned with one that he 'didn't agree with'. Refuses to hold court on Fridays, or extend past 12;30pm on any other day. Well past time to retire.......

He's the worse. Doesn't follow the law, [Redacted by Ed.] and is not consistent with his law decisions. In one case he quotes a case law to explain his decision one way and a few months later uses the exact case law to spin the decision in the exact opposite direction, clearly with no true rationale. He needs to retire!

Judge O'Meara is incompetent. For someone of his far advanced years of 80+ shows in his ability to relate to the populous and he has absolutely no understanding to the disabled, middle-aged, or older worker or corresponding laws. He is was out of touch and uses the Magistrate to handle the Case and Order he must sign he does so after having his law clerk clerk write for him, many months late, and months after his Magistrate wrote recommendations for his review. His retirement is way past due.

Judge O'Meara allows his former clients to submit administrative records with obvious, capricious, and false benefit information that cannot possibly be true due to multiple contradictions, and he issues orders granting them. For instance, his former client issued benefit administration for benefits of a UAW plan on a salaried employee. They listed misinformation about a "rehire date" which never happened, and other false information to eliminate and reduce benefits on a disabled individual. The company not only changed the insurer but the plan, regardless of the fact that pre-tax and after-tax premiums were paid. Judge O'Meara, having litigated as an attorney for this company and the insurers, should have known that a salaried employee could not be placed in a UAW union plan, and that he needed to disqualify himself from the case. He did not, and instead he showed favoritism and bias throughout the case, while working other cases for the same company simultaneously. At no time has Judge O'Meara made any attempt to correct or address these errors or disqualify himself.

People warned me about Judge O'Meara. I was told that if I was a plaintiff, I would be doomed. I tried to keep an open mind and worked hard. He proved me Wrong. He was extremely dismissive. We have a lot of decent judges on the bench. He just isn't one of them. If you draw him, and you are a plaintiff (not a business), you will likely summarily lose.

He needs to RETIRE. He doesn't want to do his job, and he doesn't do his job. He kicks cases. If you are a plaintiff (and not a business) and you pull O'Meara, you will be doomed.
Completely disregards Plaintiff's, hides evidence or forces dismissal of cases. Handles cases with past law buddies and show astronomical amounts of favoritism regardless of his sworn oath. should be removed from the bench!

Judge O'Meara is a true gentleman who always tries to see both sides of an argument; does not appear to pre-judge issues; and is willing to be persuaded by compelling argument. Oral argument is very useful with Judge O'Meara, and I have seen him apparently change his view based on counsel's arguments.

Judge O'Meara can be tough and no-nonsense, but with a fine sense of humor and an obvious heart of gold. He is extremely fair in his rulings, gives each side plenty of opportunity to make its case, does not appear to prejudge the issues, and always is extremely courteous to both counsel and parties.
