Judge Padova is a true class act. Very well heeled, has a very calm temperament, and treats everyone in his courtroom with respect. He is very intelligent, unbiased, and has a deep knowledge of the law. Litigation would be much better if we had more judges like this. Also, he really sounds like Alan Alda.

What a fine judge! I've practiced before many federal judges throughout the country and Judge Padova is one of the best. Smart, respectful, and hard working. The judiciary needs more judges like him!

I too had a case, pro se, assigned to Judge Padova. He dismissed my case, but also wrote a salient opinion documenting why my case was dismissed. I too have that opinion in my files as a treatise. Judge Padova is the best !

Yup pro se cases seem to get dismissed because they dont want pro se attornies making the courts look stupid On the recommendation of Senator Arlen Specter, Padova was nominated by President George Bush on November 5, 1991 to a new seat created by 104 Stat. 5089 which was approved by Congress. Padova was confirmed by the Us Senate on March 13, 1992 on a Senate vote and received commission on March 18, 1992. Padova assumed senior status on February 11, 2008.

I submitted a case Pro Se and it was put before Judge Padova. The case was dismissed as he indicated I did not have an adequate cause of action. However, he wrote a salient treatise on exactly why my case was doomed to fail. This happened about 15 years ago. I still have his opinion in writing as it educated me throrougly and was so well-written it should be used to illustrate why cases against municipalities, the legislature and the judicial system may fail in the Federal System. Judge Padova has a grasp of the law that is far above that of many judges. Sadly many are not as astute as he, nor as gracious as he. His language in the opinion I received from him could have easily contained language that talked down to me. It didn't! He used his position to politely and succinctly educate me, a common citizen, as to what was wrong with my case. His language was respectful, inciteful, and to-the-point. Judge Padova stands above the rest.

I had the pleasure of being in Judge Padova's courtroom recently (end of March, 09) undergoing the jury selection process (I was not picked). I found him to be a real gentleman to all throughout the process. His staff seemed real happy and upbeat, too. A real indicator that the man is top shelf.

I have been involved in cases involving more than 30 federal jurists (and probably more than 50). Judge Padova is hardworking, courteous, thoughful, smart, and fair. He has a wonderful temperament and is an outstanding jurist.

From a transcriptionist: I think Judge Padova is excellent. Fair, impartial, intelligent, treats everyone in front of him with respect. Well-spoken, gives everyone a full opportunity to speak and his intelligence level is ever present.
