Judge Hood has an excellent judicial temperament. He can be viewed as pro-government in criminal cases, but this is really not much more than a reflection of how the law favors the government. He is an insightful judge when it comes to sentencing. Judge Hood does reflect a pro-defendant viewpoint in civil cases.
Has control of court, but is fair and courteous to lawyers.
Fair to all litigants. Shows no bias for either side in a case. Highest ethical standards and a great sense of humor which puts all present at ease in otherwise tense situations.
Should have his own tv judge show.
Judge Hood is a plaintiff's worst nightmare. He is anxious to rule in a defendant's favor. In person and in his opinions he can be snarky and rude. His opinion's are all over the place, short-sighted, and some times rule on matters not before him in his overzealous attempt to get plaintiffs out of his Court. Plaintiff's enter his court with a distinct disadvantage.
Has an expansive view of the scope of government power but a fair view of how it is exercised within that scope. Very much defendant oriented in civil litigation.
