Judge Merchant is an exemplar of our age -- unqualified, unconcerned, and unabashed. She does not know her cases, does not read the submissions, she does not care to hide her obvious lack of preparedness. If she reads anything on the docket at all, you can rest assured it is only five minutes before she shuffles into the courtroom. If you've ever witnessed a college student squirm when called upon to answer a question, only to blurt out a word salad barely resembling a coherent thought, you'll have a good idea of Judge Merchant on the bench. Bottom line: this is what an end-stage of empire appointee looks like. A political stooge appointed by an imbecile. Nero appointed his horses to positions of power but somewhere along the line of progression before that point, there must have been someone like Judge Merchant; a complete non-entity that lays the foundation for the final farce. God help us all if this is a sampling of the best and brightest our country has to offer.
