He pays attention to discovery. If you are working on the case he will give you time to complete tasks. If you are dragging your feet he will not be happy. He will enforce the discovery rules, don't move for an extension after the time period has run.
Judge Collings was the best judge I have ever come in contact with!
This guy is about as bad as a judge gets. His eyeball rolling and rude comments are those of a burnt-out magistrate judge, and the reason that he is still a magistrate. He is overcome with pressure from prosecution and frequently gives in to it. He is not even-handed in any way. Avoid this magistrate if possible.
Judge Collings is a horrible Judge. His ability to handle cases is absurd. His temper is horrible and a discrace to our government. As for bail..get your wallet out it's gonna cost you. Or he will set conditions you will never be able to meet. He is a former prosecuter and now a prosecutor with a robe on. He will not side with nor will he listen. What ever the prosecutor says or the FBI agent says he goes with. He is as corrupt as them.
Judge Collings is smart and fair. He is willing to listen to lawyers and he will read and consider the materials you submit. In a civil case if the parties are working he will give you the time you need.
A hard working magistrate who will actually release pending trial if there is a plan in place for the defendant.
