Remarkably hard on non-violent drug offenders.

Mercurial is the best word to describe Judge Doummar. He can be as pleasant as anyone, but he can be as mean as cat piss at times as well. He's well prepared and does his research (or has his clerks do so). But if you get on his wrong side, watch out. Things will not go well for you or your client.

This is one of the worst judges in America. He screamed at highly qualified experts, his mood changed by the hour, he did not give fair treatment to both sides - allowed one party to use demonstratives but not the other, did oustide research on his own to decide the case. If he was a good judge once, he is not now and should get off the bench. I was warned about him before but had no idea he would be as bad as he was.

Judge Doumar is extremely intelligent and demonstrates a real love for the law. He also keeps cases and trials moving along. One warning, however, he can be very tough on attorneys who do not know the facts or the applicable law of their cases. Overall, he is an outstanding Judge who reaches the right results for the right reasons.
