THE MYTH THE LEGEND AND THE MAN: ROYCE LAMBERTH

This judge is a joke. [Redacted by Ed.] If you get assigned to his court, settle or reach a plea. Appearing before him is a waste of your time and your client's time, regardless of the side. The only piece of solace that I have as a practicing lawyer is that this guy will never be appointed to a circuit court and hopefully, he will do everyone a favor and retire. I feel awful for the clerks assigned to work for him.

It’s time for this judge to retire. He has lost all sense of compassion, neutrality, and objectivity. He is doing the judicial bar a disservice. He let his title go to his head, and his arrogance is palpable. I hope that your client does not get assigned to his court. If you are a law clerk, avoid him at all costs.

This man has no business on the bench. He lacks the ability to limit his partiality toward large conservative DC law firms. A client cannot win before this judge when taking on an opposition capable of paying for a giant. Judge Lamberth likes to favor the big firms and clients while setting aside the requirements of the law.

A down to earth guy who calls them as he sees them. He was elevated to the bench after serving as the head of the civil litigation section for the Justice Dept. You would expect him to side with the govt. lawyers, but this is not the case.

Life time judicial appointments breed arrogance and contempt. Royce is nothing short of the living example of how this works.

Judge Lamberth is fair, smart and does an excellent job of controlling the court room. It is a pleasure to be before him.

Judge Lamberth is a no-nonsense judge who will listen to both sides and render a fair decision. Unlike many of his peers in DC he holds many oral arguments on contested motions, and at those arguments indicates that he has personally made himself familiar with the arguments and the record. Notably for this court, he does not genuflect to government attorneys nor to well-heeled litigants. A fair judge in front of whom I always feel I've gotten a fair hearing for my clients, win or lose.

Judge Lamberth is a fair and even-handed judge, who considers both sides equally. He is an incredibly intelligent man, who cares a great deal about ensuring parties receive a fair trial. On a personal level, he is one of the nicest, most sincere people you will ever get the chance to meet.

Judge Lamberth belongs in the executive branch, not the legislative branch.
