Very even handed in case disposition. Everyone will generally get a fair shake. However, don't expect to win any novel or complex arguments. Dealing with chambers feels more like working with a DMV than a court. Judge Hickey never practiced law in any meaningful sense and it shows in how chambers approaches cases. Also, chamber staff always appears to be more knowledgeable about civil cases than Judge Hickey herself. If you have a complicated case, then things must be spelled out in painful detail. As far as interaction goes, staff is usually helpful. Judge Hickey herself however is rather off-putting. She does not appear to have much patience for difficult arguments. All in all, Judge Hickey is a fair judge but can be frustrating to practice in front of.
