Magistrate Judge Bongiovanni certainly SHOULD be made a JUDGE. I appeared before her years ago in a case, she has excellent judicial temperament, able, understands what the parties are doing and dealing with, listens, intelligent, sets the right tone for the courtroom and counsel. She is top rank

This Mag Judge SHOULD be a Judge. Great temperament, set the right tone for her courtroom, great awareness of what lawyers and parties are doing and dealing with. Again, she should be made a Judge. I have appeared in many district courts around the country. She stands out as especially capable

As a plaintiff we never hear what goes on at their phone conferences, we look at the minutes and they are very vague. When there is an issue with defense counsel, they are even more vague. It appears that our whole legal system is broken. I would love to hear other plaintiffs opinion.

Judge Bongiovanni is one of the best I have worked with in Trenton. We had a difficult case with a difficult Plaintiff. She helped us bring it to an end and even awarded us attorney's fees, which was appropriate in this matter.

I have been appearing in front of Judge Bongiovanni in civil matters for about 8 years now. She is respectful and a delight. She is easily accessible by phone and always fair to both sides. When she assumed the bench, she had limited familiarity with the civil side, having come from the Federal Public Defender's Office. She quickly learned and has proven to be a very good asset to the bench.

A great jurist. She does not take herself too seriously and puts out the best spread of chocolates compared to all the other magistrates. Her Rockem Sockem Robots are definitely cool. And her kindergarten report card on open display is hilarious.

I have appeared before Judge Bongiovanni several times in consumer rights cases over the last several years. Her Honor's temperament, concern for the convenience of counsel, knowledge of substantive areas of law, fairness, and Her Honor's brilliant presiding over settlement negotiations leave me astounded. Her Honor is the best jurist I have ever appeared before, and I have appeared before many federal judges. Although she has ruled against my clients at times, Her Honor’s reasoning was persuasive, considered, articulate, and well-written. Her Honor's zeal for fairness and reasoned logic makes the defeats less stinging. The legal profession would have its reputation well burnished if society had more “Bongiovanni’s” on the Bench. A president would be very wise to appoint Her Honor to the next district court vacancy. In a decade or so, I very easily imagine Her Honor's elevation to the Court of Appeals or beyond... Lastly, if I was ever privileged with an opportunity to serve as a judge, I would model my court after Her Honor’s and no other.

During the past two years in which Magistrate Judge Bongiovanni has presided over a complex case my office is prosecuting, she has ruled for and against my clients. Each time, however, she gave each issue a considerable amount of time and deliberation, and she reached a fair and just result--without so much as a hint of bias. An unusually complex discovery matter that involved hundreds of pages of briefing and re-briefing is illustrative of her abilities. She was able to cut through the hyperbole and distractions and get to the heart of the matter. And although she considered every issue and gave it the weight it deserved, her ultimate ruling was unambiguous, decisive, and supported by the relevant facts and law. You may not like the result, but you can't deny that she's considered the issues and made a fair and reasonable ruling. MJ Bongiovanni has a heavy work load (which is doubtless made heavier because of the time and attention she gives to each matter before her), and she won't put up with time-wasting nonsense for that reason. I'll take that rather than the alternative any day. EXCELLENT jurist!

Judge Bongiovanni is smart, professional, compassionate, articulate, witty and above all fair. She certainly deserves to be a DJ but would benefit the system even more further up the line. Her tenure in the FPD's office has served her well.

I am a law student at Widener School of Law in Delaware. Judge Bongiovanni taught a course I had over the summer and she was PHENOMENAL!! it was a trial advocacy class and she spoke as a guest speaker for one day. She spoke with such zeal and passion for her job, referred to her role as "Service" to the bench which I have not from any judges thus far (and in and out of law school I deal with hundreds of judges. She made a real impression upon me and I am proud that she is on the bench and know that she rules with integrity and grace.

Very evenhanded, in control of the litigation without being overpowering. Astute case management. Only drawback, and this may be her clerks, is that in discovery disputes, there tends to be multiple layers of submissions, back and forth, with then new submissions to summarize and update the positions, etc.
