Learning about Judge Watkins and his ruling in the dog case has lifted my spirits and re-assured me about the hope for humanity. There are no words to express how deeply I regard him for his action, the height of decency, morality and courage.

I was not before this gentleman, but I wish I had been. I read about his ruling on the dog fighting case, and his commentary that decried the cruelty against those poor dogs. Judge Watkins is a genuinely decent and humane person. I hope God blesses him.

Unpredictable and idiosyncratic. Slow to rule. Inexperience with federal practice prior to coming on the bench shows in his work on the bench. Not as clever as he thinks he is.

In over 450 federal cases, Watkins is THE best federal judge I have ever seen. A far minded, scholarly, practical person with who respects litigants, lawyers and the law. Need more like him.

Good all the way around. His pretrial filing requirements are a burden, but he reads everything and knows the case thoroughly by the time of pretrial. I've come to dislike federal court because of abuse from judges (not personal abuse, but abuse of the process)and J. Watkins is a clear exception.
