Judge Skretny is very strict but ultimately he's fair and professional. He reviews the pleadings carefully, he's attentive and engaged during court proceedings, and is always respectful to litigants and litigators. I may not agree with all of his opinions, but I have nothing but respect for Judge Skretny.
Brutal Judge since he took the bench - settled my lawsuit - civil- without my permission or knowledge and sent it to all media! He made up the $$$ amount and refused the cease and desist order to protect the Gov deft- thus guy is horrific!
It appears that this "jurist" has been overturned nearly a dozen times in the past year by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals...he does not seem to be intellectually qualified for this gig-no wonder he is retiring! I have also witnessed him make very biased, sexist comments in open court. Very outdated and out of touch.
Works hard. Not very open to arguments that are complicated. Prefers simple arguments with clear answers. Good judicial temperament.
Handed down two recent horrible decisions on cases I had in front of him. He applys the law strictly and without care or sympathy towards civil plaintiff's. Makes decisions quickly and apparently only in favor of the government.
